I survived the japanese tsunami, it is a very good and interesting book it takes place in 2011 when the disaster strikes when a huge earthquake happens and it causes a tsunami!
the main character ben and the side charter ‘mom’ and oniisan witch is uncle or brother in japanese. then they get in the car a start driving away,the cracks in the ground make the car swerve and the tsunami hits them mom and oniisan fly out of the car! then ben remembers his dad who died in war. he remembers how his dad taught him how to escape a drowning car and he grabs the car seat and breaks the window and gets out,he also saw a couch then he gets on the couch and looks around he finds his cat and grabs it tightly, and he is freezing he gets on a matrize with his cat and sees the waves is pulling back and he jumps off of the matrize and grabs a tree so he doesn’t die. the water is gone and he is freezing and so tired so then he walks back to his school “the walk was the worst part” ben said,then he gets to the school and finds a little girl she offer him water and ben says “no” not wanting to take food from a kid then she gets out a bag of chips and with the little english she knows she says “no take,you need” and he takes it and chungs the juice and gives the juice and gives some to his cat saving some for later. he goes to sleep and wakes up seeing his doctor! he asks the doctor “do you know my my mom is?” he replies “no,but if i find her i will let you know”
